Welcome to the Official Website of the

Guides Association of New York City (GANYC)

Why Go GANYC? GANYC was founded by licensed guides for licensed guides. We are one of the oldest and most active tour guides associations in America and our members adhere to the law. All of our members are licensed by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.

NYC licensed guides are the best ‘bang-for-your-tourism-buck.’ Take the time to enjoy our site, learn what our members have to offer and above all, enjoy the benefits; a GANYC member will make your time worthwhile. We are the inside track to The Big Apple.

Guides help navigate group arrival and transfer to hotels. A guide can steer your arriving group to a correct luggage area, signal waiting buses to approach the gate, welcome your group enroute to Manhattan and assist with hotel check-in.

Brooklyn
If Brooklyn were still an independent city – as it was until 1898 – it would be the fifth largest city in America. A tour might visit Williamsburg, the new home of avant garde artists, Brighton Beach, which Russian immigrants have re-made as “Odessa-by-the-Bay,” Coney Island, the working people’s Riveria, Flatbush, with its handsome Victorian houses, historic Green Wood Cemetery, The Brooklyn Museum of Art and Brooklyn Botanic Garden, both world-class institutions, and Brooklyn Heights, with its rows of 1840’s townhouses and spectacular views across the Harbor.
